Originally known as Clynelish, it was renamed Brora in 1969 when the new Clynelish opened nearby. Producing heavily peated whisky during the 1970s due to Islay shortages, Brora combined coastal elegance with a wild, smoky intensity. Though closed in 1983, its rare releases are now among the most prized in Scotch whisky history.
